Sightings 7/3/11

Please note that the Club's 'bocsightings@hotmail.co.uk' e-mail address has been hacked into and is being used for scam purposes (we are locked out of it and cannot gain access).

Please ignore and delete any spurious e-mails from this address whilst we deal with the problem. We have contacted Hotmail for account recovery.

We have set up a new e-mail address for submission of sightings:

BOCbirdsightings@hotmail.co.uk

BRADLEY STOKE:
21 Waxwing at the Aldi store/pub 5.40pm this evening (G Ball).

SEVERNSIDE:
3 Short-eared Owls at Aust Warth at 5.40pm of note (per severnsidebirds). No sign of any new migrants yet.

AREA 51:
7.3.11 Little Owls in the morning sun.
The observer was throwing a sickie this morning (should have been home doing the hoovering) so we can't credit the photographer or say where it was taken. However, the crystal clear clarity of the image, not to mention the superb artistic merit of the picture should give the game away....

PORTBURY WHARF:
New birds around the pools were 14 Dunlin roosting on the island this morning but little else of note. 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker at a tree nest hole also noted (S Hale).

SNUFF MILLS:
Singles of Kingfisher, Dipper and Treecreeper noted 1pm-2pm (RJ Emery).
