Sightings 27/4/11

Another very quiet day for birds, not helped by the low (high) tides in the afternoon.

BRISTOL:
Hanham:
 'mystery bird' photographed today and sent in by Cheryl
Please let us know what you think this bird is. It's a 'first past the post' election, no AV here. We'll post the most popular call. No names to spare blushes.

ALMONDSBURY:
Lower Knole Farm: 12 Sedge Warbler here this morning: 2 pairs and 7 singing males in one 100x240m field and another singing male just beyond this area (M Dadds).

PORTBURY WHARF:
Today's endorphin rushes were a Cetti's Warbler and 2 singing Lesser Whitethroat (S Hale).

The observer had to go and lie down afterwards.

LULSGATE:
A flyover Red Kite seen at Bristol airport 1pm (A Hockey).The observer was on duty, looking out for paragliders over the Mendips at the time.

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
