Sightings 6/5/11

Ringed Plover chick, hatched locally this week


BRISTOL:
Stapleton: 2 Swifts over today (Christine Jones). Increasing numbers of city sightings recently.

LOWER WOODS:
1 Nuthatch, 1 Garden Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler (W King).


SEVERNSIDE: per severnsidebirds, generally quiet except for:
Severn Beach: another Turtle Dove this morning (following 24 April sighting).

Northwick Warth: a 'fall' of 14 Wheatear of note.

PORTBURY WHARF:
6.5.11 Little Owl

GORDANO VALLEY:
Walton-in-Gordano: 2 Yellow Wagtail in sheepfield ST 427732 (S Sayers).

PILL:

Also along the foreshore scrub, 15 Sedge Warbler and a male Whinchat (R Hawley).

SAND BAY:
20 Ringed Plover, a Sanderling and 65 Dunlin (per westonbirds).

BARROW GURNEY:
A large flock of 300+ Corvids in newly mown field, at least 250 Rooks, also a Hobby over (AD Scott).

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
6.5.11 RN Duck in Heron's Green bay today

SOMERSET LEVELS:
Tealham Moor:
6.5.11 Yellow Wagtail this afternoon
